Just a quick one the suggestions are in for the class Christmas Party. The proposed date is Wednesday the 16th of November which is the last Wednesday of this semester.

On the right hand side is a list of suggestions that I have gotten, so its up to you'se to vote for which one you want. Closing date is Tuesday the 1st of December.

I'm in the process of organizing the Christmas party. I should have a choice of options for everyone by next Friday.

Course Committee Meeting

Just to let you know there was a course committee meeting yesterday evening. I won't bore you with all the details but some of the highlights (probably not the right word) were:

* Semester 2 planning
* Exam timetable
* Exam results from last year (5-1st, 22-2.1, 3-2.2 & one fail)
* Q5 from last year
* International students
* Options and Core subjects
* Class attendance

The issue of Business Modeling and Decision Making was brought up (I will reflect on what was said over the weekend before i follow up further)

HRM November 23rd

Just to let you know Gerry has kindly agreed to postpone the HRM class on the 23rd of November due to the graduation ball the previous night. If needs be he will reschedule the class for a later date

Christmas Exams

After speaking with Phil the Christmas exams start on the 11th of January. The timetable hasn't been published yet but she said in general the exams are here in Aungier St.

Those doing modules with the part timers they will be on in the evening time to facilitate everyone.

Also if anyone was in Pat Kenny's class yesterday he may have mentioned that that exam might be at night as well. If this is a problem for example people commuting from outside Dublin and the problems getting home after 9.30pm could they let me know by tomorrow and we should be able to get it put on earlier.

I'll have an update on the DIT careers day early this week.

BIG CLASS NIGHT OUT

AFTERNOON,

An official class night out has been organised for next Wednesday the 14th of October. Everybody has to attend and excuses won't be accepted......!!!!!


The plan for the night is as follows:

Drinks in the Odeon which has a big screen for the Ireland match any time around 7.30pm and later on to Coppers which is €5 in.There should be a good crowd there as it is the DIT GAA fundraiser and every year so far that i have been there has been good craic!!! Tickets can be bought from Sean and Deco for a €5 which is the same price as on the door but all money goes to DIT instead!!!

Careers Workshop

Anybody who was at the Group workshop with Dr. Phil yesterday will know that there is going to be a careers workshop organized for the class in November. Having done it last year its a worth while day and good templates are given out for cover letters and c.v's as well as valuable advice

The brief for the workshop is as follows:

• Need to brush up on your interview skills?

Don’t leave career decisions until the last minute!
